UK adopts new growth charts.
Growth charts developed by the Department of Health and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health have been adopted as the new standard for use in the UK. Their introduction follows concern that the previous UK90 charts did not adequately reflect the normal fluctuations in weight during early infancy for breast-fed babies.
