Read more...   HPV Vaccine Introducted into the UK's Immunisation Programme Vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV) has been introduced into the UK's national immunisation programme. Certain types of HPV are responsible for over 70% of cases of cervical cancer and it is estimated that the vaccination programme will save 400 lives per year.  The vaccine will be offered to girls aged 12-13 years old with as well as a two-year catch up programme aimed at girls aged up to 18 years old.
