Complementary and alternative medicines: adverse events.
Complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs) and therapies are often regarded as "natural" and, therefore, harmless. However, for the the vast majority of CAMs no formal testing or adverse event reporting mechanisms are in place. A study published in Archives of Disease in Childhood studied adverse effects associated with CAMs.

Medicines for Children now has over 50 leaflets.
The Medicines for Children website now lists over 50 drugs taken by children. The website is a joint initiative by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists group (NPPG) and WellChild. It aims to provide information leaflets about the use of medicines in children. The leaflets are written specifically for parents and carers of children in mind. When it launched in 2009 the site had 25 medicines commonly given to children but has now more than doubled that number.
